Spyware Removal
Spyware is different from a virus. A virus is clumsy and makes itself obvious. Spyware is designed not to be noticed, and the people most likely to be targeted by it are the ones who would not think to look.
I remove it, and I will show you what was there. If you suspected someone was watching the machine, you are entitled to know what I found and where it was hiding.

Signs something is watching
- A webcam light on when nothing is using it
- Data usage far higher than normal on a plan you did not change
- Browser extensions you did not install and cannot remove
- A new search engine or homepage you did not set
- The computer warming up or the fan running at odd times
- Accounts being logged into without you
- Battery on a laptop draining far faster than normal
- Someone who knows details they should not know
What I look for
Legitimate monitoring apps are a genuine grey area, so I check for them honestly rather than guessing. Stalkerware, keyloggers, remote-access tools installed without your knowledge, rogue browser extensions, hidden admin accounts, scheduled tasks that phone home, and unauthorised entries in the registry and startup list.

No booking form and no call centre. I will tell you honestly whether it sounds like something I can fix, and roughly what it will cost.

Early morning, evening, weekend or public holiday - all normal, none surcharged. Home or office. You can watch the work.

The price is agreed before the job starts, and if a part is needed you get the cost price rather than a mark-up.

If I cannot fix it, there is no charge. If something I did stops working, I come back and look at it.
Spyware - common questions
How do I know if my computer has spyware on it?
Watch for unexplained data usage, a webcam light on when nothing is using it, browser extensions you did not install, and accounts being accessed without you. Those are the usual signs, though the only reliable way to know is to look.
Will you tell me what you find even if it is awkward?
Yes. If I find monitoring software I will show you exactly what it was, what it recorded, and where it was hiding. You are entitled to that information.
Do I need to replace my router?
Usually not. Most of it gets in through software on the computer, not the network. I will tell you if I find something that changes that answer.
